We are pleased to announce that Nanaimo Golf Club has re-opened on a limited basis to members, their guests and the public.

We have implemented a number of protocols to aid in the health, safety and enjoyment of players and employees while on the property. We ask that all people visiting Nanaimo Golf Club during this time observe the protocols that the Club has put into place for everyone's safety.

COVID-19 Protocols as of October 20, 2020

  • Stay at home if you or anyone in your household have symptoms of COVID-19 or feel sick in any manner at all.
  • Self-isolate for 14 days when you return to BC from outside Canada or after you had contact with anyone who has COVID-19..
  • Practise physical distancing by ALWAYS staying a minimum of 2 meters away from other people at all times while at the Club. Do not shake hands or high-five/fist bump.


  • Member-only golf before noon. Between noon and 1pm, members can invite one guest daily; after 1pm, members can invite up to 3 guests daily.
  • Public play is available only after 1pm with 48-hour advance booking.
  • Arrive no more than 30 minutes before your tee-time to warm up at the driving range and practice greens.
  • Follow all established traffic-control patterns at the Club.
  • Enter the course via the pathway between the Pro Shop and driving range.
  • Wash your hands at the handwashing station by the main entrance upon your arrival, and again at the handwashing station near the 18th green before you leave the course.
  • Tee times are at 8-minute intervals. Please maintain this gap while on the course.
  • Observe our course etiquette: remember to repair your divots and ball marks, and smooth out the bunker with your shoe (no rakes are on the course). Players are not allowed to play through the group in front.
  • Leave the flagstick in the hole while putting.
  • Golf cart rentals are available: 2 people can ride the same cart if they're from the same or a different household, by request only; single riders are also allowed. 
  • Club rickshaws are available and sanitized after each use; be sure to leave them in the designated area—do NOT take them into the parking lot.
  • Power-caddy storage for members is available; only one person is allowed in the storage room at a time.
  • Club storage is available for members, with designated pick-up and drop-off areas. No entry allowed to the back shop.
  • No club cleaning is available.
  • Do not loiter in the parking lot before or after your round. All players must leave the golf course within 15 minutes of finishing their round of golf.
  • Do not enter any buildings (except bathrooms) on the course.
  • All on-course washrooms are open, and only one person is allowed in a bathroom at a time. The basement washroom in the Clubhouse is also available by using the exterior staircase between the Banquet Hall and Mt. Benson patios.
  • Access the member locker rooms via the exterior staircase between the Banquet Hall and Mt. Bension patios. Sanitize/wash hands on entry. Before leaving, affix red card to locker to designate sanitzing required.
  • Bring your own PPE devices (e.g., wipes, sanitizer and mask) if you see the need. We will be doing active sanitization around the course and in high-touch areas.
  • Member golf lessons and club-fitting are available; speak with the Pro Shop for details.


  • Mike's Place/Halfway House:
    • Open Wednesday–Sunday from 10am to 5pm (weather permitting). Closed Monday & Tuesday. As of November 2, closed for the winter season.
    • All service is subject to special menu and ordering procedures.
  • Snack Room: 
    • Open Monday & Tuesday in October. Starting November 2, open daily.
    • Available to all NGC members with charging privileges.
    • Located in old Scoring Room downstairs, opposite the doors at the rear staircase between the banquet and lounge patios.
    • Members must use hand sanitizer before entering, one at a time.
    • All service is subject to special menu and ordering procedures.
  • Take-Out Service: Available for both members and the public:
    • 11am–6pm, Monday & Tuesday.
    • 11am–7pm, Wednesday & Thursday.
    • 11am–8pm, Friday & Saturday.
    • 12pm–7pm, Sunday.

  • Restaurant Dining: Open on a limited basis to all members, golf traffic and the public. Reservations recommended: call 250-758-2451 ext. 726. Walk-ins are welcome, subject to available seating. Enter via the AV Macan Banquet Hall entrance from the parking lot, and wait to be seated. Patrons are required to observe all special protocols (see the detailed list of procedures & protocols below). Dining hours of operation:
    • Monday & Tuesday: 11am–7pm (kitchen closes at 6pm; last call at 6:30pm).
    • Wednesday & Thursday: 11am–8pm (kitchen closes at 7pm; last call at 7:30pm).
    • Friday & Saturday: 11am–9pm (kitchen closes at 8pm; last call at 8:30pm).
    • Sunday: 11am–8pm (brunch items available until 3pm; kitchen closes at 8pm; last call at 8:30pm).
  • Self-Serve Coffee Station: Open 7am–11am daily in AV Macan Banquet Hall.
  • Event Rentals: Available in the Departure Bay and Mt. Benson Lounges. Contact Haley Robinson for details.


  • Open 7am to dusk daily, for retail purchases only. Pro Shop washrooms and handicap computers remain closed until further notice.
  • Up to 4 people are allowed inside the Pro Shop at a time; a staff member will be managing the queue to go inside. Follow the directional arrows to enter and exit. Limit the number of products you touch. Always remain at least 6 feet away from other persons.
